How Mexico Treats Illegal Aliens

Mexican President Felipe Calderon has accused Arizona of opening the door "to intolerance, hate, discrimination and abuse in law enforcement." But Arizona has nothing on Mexico when it comes to cracking down on illegal aliens. While open-borders activists decry new enforcement measures signed into law in "Nazi-zona" last week, they remain deaf, dumb or willfully blind to the unapologetically restrictionist policies of our neighbors to the south.
The Arizona law bans sanctuary cities that refuse to enforce immigration laws, stiffens penalties against illegal alien day laborers and their employers, makes it a misdemeanor for immigrants to fail to complete and carry an alien registration document, and allows the police to arrest immigrants unable to show documents proving they are in the U.S. legally. If those rules constitute the racist, fascist, xenophobic, inhumane regime that the National Council of La Raza, Al Sharpton, Catholic bishops and their grievance-mongering followers claim, then what about these regulations and restrictions imposed on foreigners?
-- The Mexican government will bar foreigners if they upset "the equilibrium of the national demographics." How's that for racial and ethnic profiling?
-- If outsiders do not enhance the country's "economic or national interests" or are "not found to be physically or mentally healthy," they are not welcome. Neither are those who show "contempt against national sovereignty or security." They must not be economic burdens on society and must have clean criminal histories. Those seeking to obtain Mexican citizenship must show a birth certificate, provide a bank statement proving economic independence, pass an exam and prove they can provide their own health care.
-- Illegal entry into the country is equivalent to a felony punishable by two years' imprisonment. Document fraud is subject to fine and imprisonment; so is alien marriage fraud. Evading deportation is a serious crime; illegal re-entry after deportation is punishable by ten years' imprisonment. Foreigners may be kicked out of the country without due process and the endless bites at the litigation apple that illegal aliens are afforded in our country (see, for example, President Obama's illegal alien aunt -- a fugitive from deportation for eight years who is awaiting a second decision on her previously rejected asylum claim).
-- Law enforcement officials at all levels -- by national mandate -- must cooperate to enforce immigration laws, including illegal alien arrests and deportations. The Mexican military is also required to assist in immigration enforcement operations. Native-born Mexicans are empowered to make citizens' arrests of illegal aliens and turn them in to authorities.
-- Ready to show your papers? Mexico's National Catalog of Foreigners tracks all outside tourists and foreign nationals. A National Population Registry tracks and verifies the identity of every member of the population, who must carry a citizens' identity card. Visitors who do not possess proper documents and identification are subject to arrest as illegal aliens.
All of these provisions are enshrined in Mexico's Ley General de Población (General Law of the Population) and were spotlighted in a 2006 research paper published by the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Security Policy. There's been no public clamor for "comprehensive immigration reform" in Mexico, however, because pro-illegal alien speech by outsiders is prohibited.

OBAMA'S CITIZENSHIP CASE FINALLY REACHES THE SUPREME COURT
VERY QUIETLY OBAMA'S CITIZENSHIP CASE REACHES THE SUPREME COURT AP - WASHINGTON D.C. -
In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama's qualifications for the presidency, the group "Americans for Freedom of Information" has Released copies of President Obama's college transcripts from Occidental College. Released today, the transcript school indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship.
This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama's detractors have been seeking. Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim. The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama's legitimacy and qualification to serve as President article titled, "Obama Eligibility Questioned," leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obama's first official visit to the U.K. In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments concerning Obama's legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey. This lawsuit claims Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. Donofrio's case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama's citizenship or qualification to serve as president.
Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama's campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U..S. Attorney general, Eric Holder. Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter...

While I've little interest in getting in the middle of the Obama birth issue, Paul Hollrah over at FSM did so yesterday and believes the issue can be resolved by Obama answering one simple question: What passport did he use when he was shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi ?
So how did a young man who arrived in New York in early June 1981, without the price of a hotel room in his pocket, suddenly come up with the price of a round-the-world trip just a month later?
And once he was on a plane, shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi , what passport was he offering when he passed through Customs and Immigration?
The American people not only deserve to have answers to these questions, they must have answers. It makes the debate over Obama's citizenship a rather short and simple one.
Q: Did he travel to Pakistan in 1981, at age 20? A : Yes, by his own admission. Q: What passport did he travel under? A: There are only three possibilities. 1) He traveled with a U.S... Passport, 2) He traveled with a British passport, or 3) He traveled with an Indonesia passport. Q: Is it possible that Obama traveled with a U.S. Passport in 1981? A: No. It is not possible. Pakistan was on the U.S... State Department's "no travel" list in 1981.
Conclusion: When Obama went to Pakistan in 1981 he was traveling either with a British passport or an Indonesian passport.
If he were traveling with a British passport that would provide proof that he was born in Kenya on August 4, 1961, not in Hawaii as he claims. And if he were traveling with an Indonesian passport that would tend to prove that he relinquished whatever previous citizenship he held, British or American, prior to being adopted by his Indonesian step-father in 1967.
Whatever the truth of the matter, the American people need to know how he managed to become a "natural born" American citizen between 1981 and 2008..
Given the destructive nature of his plans for America, as illustrated by his speech before Congress and the disastrous spending plan he has presented to Congress, the sooner we learn the truth of all this, the better.

One of these charter schools – Tarek ibn Zayed Academy (TiZA) in Minnesota – is so radically Islamic and subversive in nature that the Minnesota Department of Education issued two citations against it and the American Civil Liberties Union is suing it.Dozens of his universities, including the Faith University in Istabul, train young men to become lawyers, accountants, and political leaders so that they can take an active part in the restoration of the Ottoman Empire and the Islamization of the Western World.
He also allegedly operates compounds to train jihadis in the tactics of guerilla warfare.This individual has amasssed a fortune – over $30 billion – for the creation of a universal caliphate.His name is Fethullan Gulen and he resides not in the wilds of southern Turkey – but the mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania.From his fortess headquarters, located on 28 acres at 1857 Mt. Eaton Road in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, Gulen plots the overthrow of secular governments and oversees the spread of education jihad throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States.
Gulen is surrounded by an army of over 100 Turkish Islamists, who guard him and tend to his needs. The army is comprised of armed militants who wear suits and ties and do not look like traditional Islamists in cloaks and turbans. They follow their hocaefendi's (master lord’s) orders and even refrain from marrying until age 50 per his instructions.

After Turkey's war of independence, Kurdi demanded, in an address to the new parliament, that the new republic be based on Islamic principles. He turned against Atatürk and his reforms and against the new modern, secular, Western republic.How powerful is Gulen? And why is he such a threat to America and the Western world?

Turkey is now ruled by the Justice and Democratic Party (Adalet ve Kalkinma, AKP)- - a party under the Gulen’s control. Abdullah Gul, Turkey’s first Islamist President, is a Gulen disciple along with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Yusuf Ziya Ozcan, the head of Turkey’s Council of Higher Education.Under the AKP, Turkey has transformed from a secular state into an Islamic country with 85,000 active mosques – one for every 350- citizens – the highest number per capita in the world, 90,000 imams, more imams than teachers and physicians – and thousands of state-run Islamic schools.
Despite the rhetoric of European Union accession, Turkey has transferred its alliance from Europe and the United States to Russia and Iran. It has moved toward friendship with Hamas, Hezbollah, and Syria and created a pervasive anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, and anti-America animus throughout the populace.
Speaking on Monday at the inauguration ceremony of "TRT al Turkiye," the new channel of the state run TV station TRT, Prime Minister Erdogan said Turkey will always be on the side of Muslims wherever they are.Gulen’s tentacles stretch throughout the country since his followers, known as Fethullahists, have gained control of the country’s media outlets, its financial institutions and banks, and its business organizations.
According to Bayram Balci, a Turkish scholar, the Gulen schools that have been established throughout the world seek to expand “the Islamization of Turkish nationality and the Turification of Islam” in order to bring about a universal caliphate ruled by Islamic law.Several countries have outlawed the establishment of Gulen schools and cemaats (communities) within their borders – including Russia and Uzbekistan.
Even the Netherlands, a nation that embraces pluralism and tolerance, has opted to cut funding to the Gulen schools because of their imminent threat to the social order.But Gulen’s activities in the United States, including the establishment of an armed fortress in the midst of the Pocono Mountains, have escaped national press attention.In his public statements, Gulen espouses a liberal version of Sunni/Hanafi Islam and promotes the Muslim notion of hizmet – altruistic service to the common good.
Despite the paramilitary training at his Pocono fortress, Gulen has condemned terrorism and called for interfaith dialogue. He has met with Pope John Paul II, the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomeos, and Israeli Sephardic Head Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron.In private, Gulen has stated that “in order to reach the ideal Muslim society ‘every method and path is acceptable, including lying to people.’”
In a sermon that was aired on Turkish television, Gulen said:You must move in the arteries of the system without anyone noticing your existence until you reach all the power centers … until the conditions are ripe, they [the followers] must continue like this. If they do something prematurely, the world will crush our heads, and Muslims will suffer everywhere, like in the tragedies in Algeria, like in 1982 [in] Syria … like in the yearly disasters and tragedies in Egypt. The time is not yet right. You must wait for the time when you are complete and conditions are ripe, until we can shoulder the entire world and carry it … You must wait until such time as you have gotten all the state power, until you have brought to your side all the power of the constitutional institutions in Turkey … Until that time, any step taken would be too early—like breaking an egg without waiting the full forty days for it to hatch. It would be like killing the chick inside.
The work to be done is [in] confronting the world. Now, I have expressed my feelings and thoughts to you all—in confidence … trusting your loyalty and secrecy.

One of these charter schools – Tarek ibn Zayed Academy (TiZA) in Minnesota – is so radically Islamic and subversive in nature that the Minnesota Department of Education issued two citations against it and the American Civil Liberties Union is suing it.Dozens of his universities, including the Faith University in Istabul, train young men to become lawyers, accountants, and political leaders so that they can take an active part in the restoration of the Ottoman Empire and the Islamization of the Western World.
He also allegedly operates compounds to train jihadis in the tactics of guerilla warfare.This individual has amasssed a fortune – over $30 billion – for the creation of a universal caliphate.His name is Fethullan Gulen and he resides not in the wilds of southern Turkey – but the mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania.From his fortess headquarters, located on 28 acres at 1857 Mt. Eaton Road in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, Gulen plots the overthrow of secular governments and oversees the spread of education jihad throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States.
Gulen is surrounded by an army of over 100 Turkish Islamists, who guard him and tend to his needs. The army is comprised of armed militants who wear suits and ties and do not look like traditional Islamists in cloaks and turbans. They follow their hocaefendi's (master lord’s) orders and even refrain from marrying until age 50 per his instructions.
When they do marry, their spouses are expected to dress in the Islamic manner, as dictated by Gulen himself.The Saylorsburg property consists of a massive chalet surrounded by numerous out buildings, including recreational centers, dormitories, cabins for visiting foreign dignitaries, a helicopter pad, and firing ranges.Neighbors complain of the incessant sounds of gunfire – including the rat-tat-tat of fully automatic weapons – coming from the compound and the low flying helicopter that circles the area in search of all intruders.
The FBI has been called to the scene, the neighbors say, but no action has been taken to end the illegal activity.
Sentries stand guard at the gates to the estate to turn away all curiosity seekers.Within the sentry hut are wide screen televisions that project high resolution images from security cameras.Before the hut is a sign that reads “Golden Generation Worship and Retreat Center.”It’s hard for the local residents to understand that the Muslim who operates this compound is not an American political or intelligence official – but rather a radical Islamist from Turkey.
Gulen fled Turkey in 1998 to avoid prosecution on charges that he was attempting to undermine Turkey’s secular government with the objective of establishing an Islamic government.
Since his arrival in Pennsylvania, the Department of Homeland Security has been trying to deport him. But in 2008 a federal court ruled that Gulan was an individual with “extraordinary ability in the field of education” who merited permanent residence status in the U.S.
The ruling remains quizzical because Gulen has no formal education or training.Gulen, according to the Middle East Quarterly, was a student and follower of Sheikh Sa'id-i Kurdi (1878-1960), also known as Sa'id-i Nursi, the founder of the Islamist Nur (light) movement.
After Turkey's war of independence, Kurdi demanded, in an address to the new parliament, that the new republic be based on Islamic principles. He turned against Atatürk and his reforms and against the new modern, secular, Western republic.How powerful is Gulen? And why is he such a threat to America and the Western world?
Consider this.
Turkey is now ruled by the Justice and Democratic Party (Adalet ve Kalkinma, AKP)- - a party under the Gulen’s control. Abdullah Gul, Turkey’s first Islamist President, is a Gulen disciple along with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Yusuf Ziya Ozcan, the head of Turkey’s Council of Higher Education.Under the AKP, Turkey has transformed from a secular state into an Islamic country with 85,000 active mosques – one for every 350- citizens – the highest number per capita in the world, 90,000 imams, more imams than teachers and physicians – and thousands of state-run Islamic schools.
Despite the rhetoric of European Union accession, Turkey has transferred its alliance from Europe and the United States to Russia and Iran. It has moved toward friendship with Hamas, Hezbollah, and Syria and created a pervasive anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, and anti-America animus throughout the populace.
Speaking on Monday at the inauguration ceremony of "TRT al Turkiye," the new channel of the state run TV station TRT, Prime Minister Erdogan said Turkey will always be on the side of Muslims wherever they are.Gulen’s tentacles stretch throughout the country since his followers, known as Fethullahists, have gained control of the country’s media outlets, its financial institutions and banks, and its business organizations.
According to Bayram Balci, a Turkish scholar, the Gulen schools that have been established throughout the world seek to expand “the Islamization of Turkish nationality and the Turification of Islam” in order to bring about a universal caliphate ruled by Islamic law.Several countries have outlawed the establishment of Gulen schools and cemaats (communities) within their borders – including Russia and Uzbekistan.
Even the Netherlands, a nation that embraces pluralism and tolerance, has opted to cut funding to the Gulen schools because of their imminent threat to the social order.But Gulen’s activities in the United States, including the establishment of an armed fortress in the midst of the Pocono Mountains, have escaped national press attention.In his public statements, Gulen espouses a liberal version of Sunni/Hanafi Islam and promotes the Muslim notion of hizmet – altruistic service to the common good.
Despite the paramilitary training at his Pocono fortress, Gulen has condemned terrorism and called for interfaith dialogue. He has met with Pope John Paul II, the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomeos, and Israeli Sephardic Head Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron.In private, Gulen has stated that “in order to reach the ideal Muslim society ‘every method and path is acceptable, including lying to people.’”
In a sermon that was aired on Turkish television, Gulen said:You must move in the arteries of the system without anyone noticing your existence until you reach all the power centers … until the conditions are ripe, they [the followers] must continue like this. If they do something prematurely, the world will crush our heads, and Muslims will suffer everywhere, like in the tragedies in Algeria, like in 1982 [in] Syria … like in the yearly disasters and tragedies in Egypt. The time is not yet right. You must wait for the time when you are complete and conditions are ripe, until we can shoulder the entire world and carry it … You must wait until such time as you have gotten all the state power, until you have brought to your side all the power of the constitutional institutions in Turkey … Until that time, any step taken would be too early—like breaking an egg without waiting the full forty days for it to hatch. It would be like killing the chick inside.

For a decades-old custom, mass burials of religious artifacts may be a bit new whenit comes to legal clarity.Last week, following a rising tide of protests, the state Department of Environmental Protection ordered a site where thousands of trash bags full of sacred Jewish text and clothing were dumped to be cleaned up.
Because of the religious sensitivity,however, DEP is permitting the burial to occur as a temporary solution until it decides where and how to relocate it.
"Our long-term goal would be to have this material be disposed of at a proper location. We don't feel the current location is the proper location," said Wolf Skacel, DEP's assistant commissioner of compliance and enforcement. "In the interim, I think the safer option for the public and out of respect for the religious (needs), we've at least allowed him to cover it at this time."
Although there's no actual religious exemption, the agency is treading lightly, allowing, for now, a landfill that normally would take a county public hearing, inclusion into the county plans and a permit application to the DEP before being permitted. There's been no word yet on when or where the some 2,000 bags will be moved.
Rabbi Chaim Abadi, who organized the drop-off site during Passover, is expected to meet with DEP officials next week to discuss options.
"If we were insensitive to the religious side of it, it would appear that someone has created an illegal landfill," Skacel said in a phone interview today. "But once you understand the religious side, you just have to see where it would have the least amount of environmental impact."
The DEP did issue a warning April 1 for operating an illegal solid waste facility on the wooded property off Vermont Avenue."My question is where are these bags going to end up? Who is overseeing this? Who's the watchdog,"asked Mary Cipriano, 56, who lives on Albert Avenue near the site. "I don't want to see a replay of this next year."She will, according to Abadi. The rabbi has grown more frustrated over the past week as Lakewood residents continue to loudly condemn a practice that has been commonplace for years.
"Other towns don't want us, so we're stuck in Lakewood," Abadi said. "It's part of Jewish life to bury these religious items. People that don't like it don't have to stay here."Indeed, many businesses exist solely to transport and bury these items, called Shaimos, which Orthodox Jews are not allowed to discard by normal means.
One is described in the Jewish Press, a NewYork City weekly, as using three semi-trailers to haul, for a fee, the bags from Brooklyn homes to bury in Lakewood or upstate New York. Another company, Shaimos.org, advertizes a preaddressed Shaimos Box, which a customer can fill with Shaimos and mail to an address where it will then be buried. And yet any government regulatory structure is hard to find, on the local and state level.
Wolf said the Vermont Avenue site was unique because it was the first time the DEP was alerted to a burial outside a cemetery, where Shaimos are often allowed to be laid with the deceased. In Lakewood, contradicting information became the only constant on the issue.
Police Chief RobertLawson, for example, sent an e-mail last Thursday to township officials explaining that county and DEP officials "found that nothing inappropriate had been done" at the Vermont Avenue site. That same day, DEP issued its warning. Lawson also said a site plan was approved for the burial and that Abadi told him he had approval. But those at planning, engineering and zoning departments said they never heard of the project. Abadi said there was no site plan. He had simply discussed it with engineering, zoning and Lawson, he said. Lawson could not be reached for comment today. By now, the bags in the hole have been buried, Abadi said. He expects to plant grass there in thecoming days.

Sacred items' burial stirs controversy in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD — From linen-free kosher suits to 12,000 men waiting in the streets to bless a rising sun, Orthodox Jews have intrigued other residents with traditions of spectacular idiosyncrasy.
This may not be one of them.
The sight at the end of a loose-dirt path off Vermont Avenue has done little but alarm some who have come across it. There, in the trees, a large hole has been dug from which thousands of black trash bags overflow.
"I was like, this can't be legal," said Scott Wegeman, whose backyard on Albert Avenue is directly behind the burial site. "You can't just treat your property like a landfill."
While perhaps temporarily unsightly (the hole was to be covered by the end of the week), the decades-old tradition is religiously unavoidable, Orthodox leaders contend. That is because the bags' contents are what strictly observant Jews in Lakewood cannot burn or toss into trash cans: Hebrew text, Torah scripture, sacred garb — no longer usable but still holy.
So it is buried, most every year, in backyards, with coffins, under foundations and in open lots — anywhere a patch of earth can be found. The practice usually coincides with Passover, since that is when Orthodox families do their spring cleaning.
This year, in an attempt to organize and facilitate the custom, a local rabbi secured a 100-by-150-foot piece of undeveloped land donated by an individual and had it deed-restricted so nothing can be built there. This week, he dispatched youth under his supervision to collect the items from Orthodox households, bring them to the site in rented trucks and place them into the 40-by-60-foot pit.
"It doesn't hurt anyone and it's a holy thing," said the rabbi, Chaim Abadi, who got a site plan approved by the township zoning office.
DEP serves notice
But for those people unfamiliar with the tradition, such a scene might scream unlawful dumping. Complaints were made with police, the Ocean County health department and the state Department of Environmental Protection. Even some officials, such as Committeeman Raymond Coles, were unaware of the practice.
On Thursday, Police Chief Robert Lawson sent an e-mail to township officials explaining it to them.
"Based on those calls we did refer this to the county and the DEP," Lawson said, despite having become familiar with the routine after so many years. "They did come down and we discussed it and found that nothing was done that was illegal or inappropriate."
DEP officials tell a different story.
"They do not have a permit," department spokesman Larry Hajna said. "We are investigating unpermitted activity."
Later Thursday afternoon, Abadi confirmed he was issued a violation notice from the DEP for the site. But details about the violation were not available Thursday evening.
Officials for New Jersey American Water, a company that provides drinking water for the township and has a well that sits about 300 feet from the site, said they were not going to react until a ruling is made.
"We're going to wait for the (DEP's) determination to decide whether this is something we need to be concerned about," company spokesman Richard Barnes said prior to news of a violation.
Rabbi calls a halt
Yet religious leaders stress their intention is to benefit the community by isolating the practice to one place deep in the woods, rather than burying in piecemeal fashion. Abadi said he hopes to reuse the site in future years.
Longstanding but largely unnoticed, the practice used to occur mostly in cemeteries. It is considered an honor to be buried with sacred texts, Rabbi Moshe Zev Weisberg said. But as Orthodox populations exploded, more and larger spaces were required.
Sites have been dug in the mountains in North Jersey, in Jackson off Frank Applegate Road, and in Lakewood off East 7th Street. Private companies have sprung up to haul the items away for small fees. But not until now has it become a public controversy.
Abadi said, based on complaints and the DEP violation, no more bags will be unloaded off Vermont Avenue.
"People have gotten a little crazy about it," he said.

LAKEWOOD — From linen-free kosher suits to 12,000 men waiting in the streets to bless a rising sun, Orthodox Jews have intrigued other residents with traditions of spectacular idiosyncrasy.
This may not be one of them.
The sight at the end of a loose-dirt path off Vermont Avenue has done little but alarm some who have come across it. There, in the trees, a large hole has been dug from which thousands of black trash bags overflow.
"I was like, this can't be legal," said Scott Wegeman, whose backyard on Albert Avenue is directly behind the burial site. "You can't just treat your property like a landfill."
While perhaps temporarily unsightly (the hole was to be covered by the end of the week), the decades-old tradition is religiously unavoidable, Orthodox leaders contend. That is because the bags' contents are what strictly observant Jews in Lakewood cannot burn or toss into trash cans: Hebrew text, Torah scripture, sacred garb — no longer usable but still holy.
So it is buried, most every year, in backyards, with coffins, under foundations and in open lots — anywhere a patch of earth can be found. The practice usually coincides with Passover, since that is when Orthodox families do their spring cleaning.
This year, in an attempt to organize and facilitate the custom, a local rabbi secured a 100-by-150-foot piece of undeveloped land donated by an individual and had it deed-restricted so nothing can be built there. This week, he dispatched youth under his supervision to collect the items from Orthodox households, bring them to the site in rented trucks and place them into the 40-by-60-foot pit.
"It doesn't hurt anyone and it's a holy thing," said the rabbi, Chaim Abadi, who got a site plan approved by the township zoning office.
DEP serves notice
But for those people unfamiliar with the tradition, such a scene might scream unlawful dumping. Complaints were made with police, the Ocean County health department and the state Department of Environmental Protection. Even some officials, such as Committeeman Raymond Coles, were unaware of the practice.
On Thursday, Police Chief Robert Lawson sent an e-mail to township officials explaining it to them.
"Based on those calls we did refer this to the county and the DEP," Lawson said, despite having become familiar with the routine after so many years. "They did come down and we discussed it and found that nothing was done that was illegal or inappropriate."
DEP officials tell a different story.
"They do not have a permit," department spokesman Larry Hajna said. "We are investigating unpermitted activity."
Later Thursday afternoon, Abadi confirmed he was issued a violation notice from the DEP for the site. But details about the violation were not available Thursday evening.
Officials for New Jersey American Water, a company that provides drinking water for the township and has a well that sits about 300 feet from the site, said they were not going to react until a ruling is made.
"We're going to wait for the (DEP's) determination to decide whether this is something we need to be concerned about," company spokesman Richard Barnes said prior to news of a violation.
Rabbi calls a halt
Yet religious leaders stress their intention is to benefit the community by isolating the practice to one place deep in the woods, rather than burying in piecemeal fashion. Abadi said he hopes to reuse the site in future years.
Longstanding but largely unnoticed, the practice used to occur mostly in cemeteries. It is considered an honor to be buried with sacred texts, Rabbi Moshe Zev Weisberg said. But as Orthodox populations exploded, more and larger spaces were required.
Sites have been dug in the mountains in North Jersey, in Jackson off Frank Applegate Road, and in Lakewood off East 7th Street. Private companies have sprung up to haul the items away for small fees. But not until now has it become a public controversy.
Abadi said, based on complaints and the DEP violation, no more bags will be unloaded off Vermont Avenue.
"People have gotten a little crazy about it," he said.

Arizona rancher Rob Krentz was murdered on his ranch Saturday, 20 miles from the Mexican border. Rob Krentz is only the latest victim of the federal government’s willful refusal to secure our border. That's right, refusal to secure the border.This kind of violence comes as no surprise to those who live in that remote corner of Arizona, in fact all along the 2300 mile line.I met Rob Krentz many years ago when I first started traveling Cochise County to help the ranchers get media coverage for the porous border. As I recall he seemed like most of the other people in that part of America. An honest, humble, hard working, patriotic American who knew there was a border problem and expected that once the federal government knew how bad it really was…it would be fixed.
We all thought that, years ago. Now we know this government, and the previous administration and the one before that don’t want the border closed, they want it open so that business can have nearly unfettered access to millions of cheap workers, and equally important, the new consumers they become. Unfortunately for Rob Krentz and others the lack of enforcement and resulting open border means that drug traffickers, kidnappers and killers can also come into our country. Does any adult actually think that the horrific violence and devaluation of human life that we hear about south of the border actually stays there and doesn’t cross over into our country?
Those monitoring the radio Saturday night heard that a helicopter spotted the killers and watched them move back into Mexico. Now, this is just speculation on my part, but I expect the perpetrator(s) to be caught by the Mexicans and turned over to American law enforcement...not alive of course. What do I mean? First of all, the Mexican cartels are furious at this killing and the media coverage it is getting.
That open border is worth over $20 billion a year in remesas (remittances) to the Mexican economy. And how much drug money? Probably more than that. Anything, that brings attention to the border and results in Americans demanding more border security directly impacts their pocketbooks, and they need to get this off the front page...immediately. I would guess that the Mexican government and drug cartels (sorry, I know that sounds redundant to some of you) and all the other corrupt institutions in Mexico have probably put a bounty out on these guys. Something simple like; Wanted, Dead.
They will turn over the corpses to our guys trying to kill two birds with one stone; 1. Ending the media coverage and, 2. Sending a message to other border crossing criminals not to do something so stupid that focuses the American's attention on the border. Just do your illegal business, smuggling of drugs, illegals, other contraband, but DO NOT draw attention to the virtual lack of enforcement on that border. That is not smart business.BTW, the unofficial motto for one BP Station on the line is; "Destined for Failure."Rob Krentz was a multi-generational American whose family helped build this country and I couldn't help but think when I heard of his murder, that this was the Old America being killed by the New America. Hope I'm wrong...

How are the people to react to the erosion of liberty that is the Obama health care regime? To be sure, lawyers will challenge it in the courts, and November is right around the corner, giving opportunity to punish those traitorous politicians who acquiesced to the debasement of our Constitution.This is all to the good. But we cannot count on lawyers and politicians. God help us if we do. We the people in our righteous anger must take matters into our own hands:
It is time for a strike. The only peaceable protest that could possibly have any effect on the implementation of ObamaCare would be to withhold the tax revenue required to fund it.
Unfortunately, Franklin Roosevelt long ago imposed the odious practice of "withholding," whereby the government takes what it considers its share before it even gets to you. First used for a limited duration during the Civil War, withholding became a permanent feature of our taxation system with the Social Security tax during the Great Depression, and then with income tax starting in World War II. As the U.S. Treasury Department's website helpfully notes, the institution of permanent withholding "eased the collection of the tax for both the taxpayer and the Bureau of Internal Revenue. However, it also greatly reduced the taxpayer's awareness of the amount of tax being collected, i.e. it reduced the transparency of the tax, which made it easier to raise taxes in the future."
Indeed it did, and it left the people little recourse to refuse to pay an unjust tax for use toward an unjust end (too bad for the British that they had no such system in the 1700s; there may never have been a Revolution).
Well, then, since we have to work for them to be able to take our money -- and it is our money -- we have but to sit out of work. A strike. For just one day, at first, and that day should, of course, be April 15.
This voluntary removal from the labor force would need to be en masse to be even remotely effective, and even then it would be largely symbolic -- at first. But it would be an unmistakable salvo to the government: What can be done once can be done again, and for longer, if need be. If the beast of government must gorge on the people's blood to thrive, then we must deny our blood by denying our sweat.(This would be different from the self- removal from society by innovators and geniuses detailed in Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged.
These people in Obama's America need not bother going on strike -- they have effectively been given the pink slip and told their services will no longer be needed. Their talents, after all, are precisely what leads to the inequality of outcomes so hated by Obama and all statists.) There is evidence that a mass strike of the people can work. In the early fifth century B.C., not long after Rome had driven out its kings and established the world's first republic, the common people, or plebs, conducted just such a strike to protest the injustices perpetrated on them by Rome's aristocratic patrician class. The plebs seceded from the Eternal City and removed themselves to the Mons Sacra, or Sacred Mountain, just beyond the city walls. There they formed their own government, the concilium plebis, and threatened to form their own country if they were not granted more power in the new Roman government.It worked. Soon the patricians, suddenly without commoners to cook and serve their food, tend their horses, mend their clothes, and staff their army, agreed to a series of concessions, including the creation of a new office to be elected from among the plebs, the Tribune, who would have the power to veto legislation proposed by the Senate and whose body would be sacrosanct.
The plebs would also later win consent to adoption of the Twelve Tables, a legal code which granted them constitutional protections from the abuses of the senatorial class.
We would be wise to study this example, for something very like it may be our only recourse should elections and lawsuits fail us.
A mass strike saved and strengthened our great ancestor, the Roman Republic.It may yet save and strengthen our own.

Will Democrats in Congress stop at nothing?

Democrats in Washington are determined to ram their agenda through Congress and - possibly as soon as this weekend - transform national health care from liberal dream into legislative reality. To do so, they are willing to ignore:
•Public opinion. Large majorities of Americans continue to oppose the health care plan; as of March 8, Rasmussen reported 53 percent against, including 41 percent who strongly oppose.
A recent CNN poll found only 25 percent of Americans in favor of the plan, while the balance favor Congress starting over or scrapping work on health care altogether.
But never mind the noisy din of the rabble; the Democrats have convinced themselves that the public is too stupid to know what is good for them, and that once the bill passes, Congress will be showered with thanks from a grateful nation that suddenly will have discovered what wonders the Democrats have bestowed on them.
Has there ever been a more reckless, delusional disregard for public opinion in the history of our democracy?
•Their own political futures. The disregard for the public's strong opposition will of course have terrible political consequences. As Patrick Caddell and Douglas Schoen, pollsters for the last two Democratic presidents, recently warned in TheWashington Post: "Democrats are pursuing policies that are out of step with the way ordinary Americans think and feel about politics and government. Barring some change of approach, they will be punished severely at the polls."
How severely? An "unmitigated disaster" awaits Democrats in November, predict the pollsters, and they are not alone.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid don't care; they seem perfectly willing to sacrifice the political lives of their foot soldiers (and in Mr. Reid's case, his own political career) for the sake of health care reform.
•The Constitution. Remember that part in the Constitution that gives the federal government the power to force you to buy something, under threat of fine or jail?
No? Oh, that must be because the Constitution contains no such odious provision; in fact, it's a fair bet that the fellows who gathered in Philadelphia in the summer of 1787 would have reacted to such a suggestion with a mixture of horror and laughter.But never mind.
Nancy Pelosi responds to a question from a journalist about the constitutionality of the individual mandate with, "Are you serious? Are you serious?" You can understand her incredulity; imagine, an American journalist daring to bring up something so frivolous and antiquated as the United States Constitution! What a fool.
•Our untenable fiscal situation. Greece and other European countries are teetering on the brink of societal collapse due to years of profligate fiscal policy. Our own nation is right on track to follow suit:
In February, the United States racked up a record $221 billion in debt, the 17th straight month that the federal government produced shameful deficits.Can we be frank? We are worse than dead broke. We are bankrupt. And yet, the Democrats claim they can compel, expand and subsidize health coverage to 30 million more Americans and not make things worse.
Does anybody in Washington really believe this?
Perhaps, but in the rest of the country, this is seen for precisely what it is: insanity.If the Democrats are willing to ignore the public, their own political futures, the Constitution and the nation's empty coffers in pursuit of their health care chimera, my question is this:
What won't they ignore? What legal, moral and political stricture won't they bend, break or disregard?
In short: What won't they do?A ruling party willing to ignore these things can conceivably ignore anything. The thought sends chills down my spine, for from such seeds are the flowers of tyranny often sown.
That our governing class would seek to create another trillion-dollar entitlement, even as our state and national governments are awash in red ink as never before and our children are shouldered with unshakable debt before they are even born is more than just disgraceful. It is terrifying.

As Patrick Caddell and Douglas Schoen, pollsters for the last two Democratic presidents, recently warned in TheWashington Post: "Democrats are pursuing policies that are out of step with the way ordinary Americans think and feel about politics and government. Barring some change of approach, they will be punished severely at the polls."
How severely? An "unmitigated disaster" awaits Democrats in November, predict the pollsters, and they are not alone.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid don't care; they seem perfectly willing to sacrifice the political lives of their foot soldiers (and in Mr. Reid's case, his own political career) for the sake of health care reform.
•The Constitution. Remember that part in the Constitution that gives the federal government the power to force you to buy something, under threat of fine or jail?
No? Oh, that must be because the Constitution contains no such odious provision; in fact, it's a fair bet that the fellows who gathered in Philadelphia in the summer of 1787 would have reacted to such a suggestion with a mixture of horror and laughter.But never mind.
Nancy Pelosi responds to a question from a journalist about the constitutionality of the individual mandate with, "Are you serious? Are you serious?" You can understand her incredulity; imagine, an American journalist daring to bring up something so frivolous and antiquated as the United States Constitution! What a fool.
•Our untenable fiscal situation. Greece and other European countries are teetering on the brink of societal collapse due to years of profligate fiscal policy. Our own nation is right on track to follow suit:
In February, the United States racked up a record $221 billion in debt, the 17th straight month that the federal government produced shameful deficits.Can we be frank? We are worse than dead broke. We are bankrupt. And yet, the Democrats claim they can compel, expand and subsidize health coverage to 30 million more Americans and not make things worse.
Does anybody in Washington really believe this?
Perhaps, but in the rest of the country, this is seen for precisely what it is: insanity.If the Democrats are willing to ignore the public, their own political futures, the Constitution and the nation's empty coffers in pursuit of their health care chimera, my question is this:
What won't they ignore? What legal, moral and political stricture won't they bend, break or disregard?
In short: What won't they do?A ruling party willing to ignore these things can conceivably ignore anything. The thought sends chills down my spine, for from such seeds are the flowers of tyranny often sown.
That our governing class would seek to create another trillion-dollar entitlement, even as our state and national governments are awash in red ink as never before and our children are shouldered with unshakable debt before they are even born is more than just disgraceful. It is terrifying.

Health Care Reform NIGHTMARE
President Obama is set to sign into law a health-care bill that would extend insurance to the 32 million Americans who are currently without it. But the more than 2,000-page health insurance bill has left more than a few consumers confused about what health-care reform will actually mean to them.
Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions:
I don't have health insurance, what does this mean for me?By 2014, every American will be required to have some form of health insurance or will be forced to pay a fine. The first year's fine would be $95 or 1 percent of their income, whichever is higher. By the second year, however, fines could rise to as much as $695 a year. Families and people meeting certain income requirements ($14,404 for individuals and $29,326 for a family of four) would be exempt from paying the fine. These people may also be eligible for the federally and state-funded Medicaid insurance program that covers poor and disabled Americans under the age of 65. One of the immediate changes that will take place is that young adults up to the age of 26 will be eligible to remain on their families' health insurance plans. Currently, the cut-off is 22 years old.
Can I buy insurance through the government?The bill does not include a public option, meaning the government will not offer health care beyond Medicare and Medicaid. People under the age of 65 who make too much to qualify for Medicaid may be eligible to receive government subsidies to help them buy private health care from new state-based insurance "exchanges," which are scheduled to begin in 2014.
My employer does not currently offer insurance, will that change?All employers will be required to offer their employees insurance by 2014. Companies with 25 or fewer employees would receive tax credits to help them pay for the insurance. The tax credits would cover about 35 percent of the insurance cost this year and would gradually increase to about 50 percent by 2014. Employers with 50 or more workers will be required to offer employees insurance or pay a fine of up to $2,000 a piece for full-time employees that are receiving government subsidies to buy insurance through state-based exchanges. The first 30 employees would be exempt from this fine. How will this legislation affect senior citizens receiving Medicare?Starting this year, all Medicare preventative services, such as cancer screenings, will be offered free of charge to senior citizens currently receiving Medicare. Also, people receiving Medicare Part D would receive an additional $250 this year to help them pay for medications that are not currently covered under the plan.
I have insurance, how will this affect me?Under the plan, people who are currently ill may begin seeing their premiums shrink, as the bill does not allow insurers to charge higher premiums to people who are sick. Also, people with pre-existing conditions who change insurance companies, due to a change in job status or in employer coverage, cannot be denied coverage under the bill, nor can they be charged higher premiums.
How much will this cost and how is it being paid for?The plan will cost an estimated $940 million. Congress and the president have said that most of it will be paid for through various tax increases on individuals that earn more than $250,000 a year, as well through decreases in Medicare reimbursements to doctors and hospitals.
Critics, however, say tax increases to the wealthy and Medicare cuts will not be enough to fund health reform and that the middle class will eventually be forced to help pay for it through tax and fee increases.

Dozens of officials from the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration and other U.S. agencies joined an investigation Monday into the killings of three people tied to the U.S. Consulate in the Mexican city of Juarez, scrambling to determine whether the slayings marked an escalation in the region's drug war or were simply cases of mistaken identity, officials said.
Lesley Enriquez, 35, who worked in the consulate's citizens services section, was believed to be the first American consulate employee to have been killed in apparent Mexican drug violence since 1985, when DEA agent Enrique Camarena was tortured and murdered.
Enriquez and her American husband were gunned down near the Santa Fe bridge into the United States about 2 p.m. Saturday, as their infant daughter cried in the back seat, unharmed but terrified. About the same time, assailants in a different part of the city killed the husband of a Mexican who works at the consulate.
That victim, identified in Mexican media as Jorge Alberto Salcido Ceniceros, 37, had been at the same children's birthday party as Enriquez and her husband, Arthur Redelfs. The American couple and the Mexican victim had been traveling in white vehicles.
FBI spokeswoman Andrea Simmons in El Paso, across the border from Juarez, said investigators had not determined the motive for the shootings.
But, she said, "at this point we don't have any indication the victims were targeted because of their employment at the consulate."
In a sign of how seriously the Mexican government regards the case, Attorney General Arturo Chávez Chávez traveled to Juarez on Monday to oversee the investigation, according to El Diario, a newspaper in the city. Mexican President Felipe Calderón and President Obama expressed indignation at the murders.
U.S. agencies, including the FBI, DEA and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, are assisting Mexican authorities by providing intelligence and interviewing witnesses in the United States, Simmons said.
A Mexican official familiar with the cases said there were two main lines of investigation: whether the shootings were "a direct message to the U.S." or whether they were instances of mistaken identity. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because the probe is continuing.
The U.S. Consulate in Juarez was closed for a Mexican holiday Monday and will remain shut Tuesday "to review its security posture," State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said.
Violence involving rival drug gangs has become so severe that the State Department recently authorized U.S. personnel in six consulates in northern Mexico -- including Juarez -- to send their family members out of the area until April 12.
At least 18,000 people have been killed in Mexico since December 2006, when Calderón declared war on the country's drug traffickers. The U.S. government has committed to spending more than $1 billion to assist the Mexican effort.

BACKGROUND: President Obama, House Speaker Obama and Senate Majority Leader Read are far to close for comfort to enacting Obamacare into law.
There is no way to stop ObamaCare in the Senate because the Senate will not act until the House of Representatives has passed the Senate bill with no changes. Obama and Pelosi want the House to pass the Senate bill by March 18 – or before Congress departs for its Easter recess around March 26, where they go home and face their constituents. IF THE SENATE BILL PASSES, IT WILL BE SIGNED BY PRESIDENT OBAMA AND IT BECOMES LAW!!!!! A Senate reconciliation bill is only being proposed to fix the Senate bill in order to get House members to vote for Senate bill.
Therefore, we must defeat the bill in House. Dozens of Congressmen who voted for the bill last time are re-thinking their support as tax increases and special deals to buy off Senators are included. The bill is very unpopular in many of their districts. And some House Members who voted no are thinking about voting yes. Since the bill passed by only 220-215, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has no Democratic margin for error. Ramming heathcare through Congress is the biggest gamble of Obama's presidency especially if Pelosi is not able to get the votes. Obama would really be a big loser if he would not be able to pass Obamacare after all the pressure he has been put on Congress. So, Obama is telling many House members including the more conservative Blue Dogs, many of whom voted against the original House bill last November that he is prepared to sacrifice them in order to get ObamaCare. He is also offering incentives such as awarding a Judgeship to a Congressman’s brother to gain his vote. Will they cave in and throw away their chances in November, or will they finally live up to their "conservative" label? We are only 9 days away (or less!) from the final vote on ObamaCare. If the House votes yes on the Senate bill that is now before it, THE GAME IS OVER. Since the Senate already passed it, once the House passes it on March 18, Obama’s signature on it (which will be immediate) MAKES IT LAW. We are about to become a Socialist country. For if this passes, it will be virtually unrepealable. Health entitlement programs, once enacted, have proven to be permanent.Think about it. Nine days from now: Permanent taxpayer funding of abortion. Permanent death panels (yes, those are in the bill), with no appeal of their decisions. Permanent forcing of pro-life doctors to refer for abortions, under penalty of loss of their license to practice. Within five years, no more freedom to buy private policies of your choice (only policies approved by the federal government). Small insurance companies, such as the one that took such incredibly good care of my husband during his illness, will very quickly be permanently out of business.

Call as many of the Targeted House Members (listed below) as possible -- particularly, you should contact Congressman John Spratt (D-SC) -- and give them a simple message. -- VOTE NO ON THE SENATE HEALTH CARE BILL!!!!!

Americans have already rejected ObamaCare. A Quinnipiac poll showed Americans disapproved of Obama's healthcare plan by 54-35 percent. Rasmussen said 56% opposed and 41% approved, and both Pew Research and PPP (a Democratic leaning poll) said 50% were opposed to it. WE MUST KILL THIS BILL!!!!!
