TRAVELERS TO MEXICO RECEIVE WARNING

Travelers to Mexico receive warning

BROWNSVILLE — Citing confirmed gunbattles, grenade attacks and “checkpoints” operated by Mexican drug cartels, the U.S. Consulate in Monterrey is urging U.S. residents to avoid roads and highways between that industrial city and the border communities of Nuevo Laredo and Reynosa.

In its most urgent message yet, issued late last week, the consulate told U.S. government employees to defer all nonessential travel to outlying parts of the state of Nuevo León because of the “deteriorating security situation.”\

  1. For the life of me I can't understand WHY people still take their trips there!!! There was a special on FOX the other night about 'talking to your kids about spring break.' Knowing what's going on between the US & Mexico, the drug cartels, etc. one has to be a complete moron to even think of going there!! Unfortunately, there is still alot of blind and ignorant sheeple out there. What scares me more is these are the people that VOTE.
